Suburban Living is the one man project of Norfolk, VA’s Wesley Bunch.  Bunch’s newest single “Always Eyes” is a lush dream pop song that sounds almost like Stephen Morris sat in on Wild Nothing set.  Excellent guitar and hook synth lines make a great shoegazey single for your sunny afternoon.  First thing we’ve heard from Suburban Living, but won’t be the last.

We recently brought you new fav artist GEMS and their dreamy first single “Void Moon”.  Now we have another track from the DC duo also recorded in the Outer Banks of North Carolina this October.  ”All I Ever” is a call and response style song as Lindsay and Clifford sing to each other over the sparsely orchestrated track.  It brings to mind The XX in a good way.  Head HERE to download.

GEMS – “All I Ever”

GEMS is the synthy dreampop–or is it dreamy synthpop–duo of Lindsay Pitts and Clifford John.  The DC band just finished recording their first single “Void Moon” in an empty beach house in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Having been to NC beaches during the fall I can see how this was a picturesque setting to record this song.  Empty beaches, vacant houses, and a chilled ocean breeze make a great backdrop for this track.  The song is even more perfect due the lyrical allusions of a coming storm with Sandy approaching them.  Pitts confirms the song was actually written a year and a half ago while living in Texas.  Enjoy “Void Moon” below and head HERE for more on GEMS.

Lay Bac is the production coop between Tom Cruisin (not to be confused with Com Truise) and Matthew Shogi (formerly Party Girl).  The Austin duo just released this dream pop gem entitled “Stay Out Tonight”.  Featuring a funk bass riff and all the haze you can handle the track fits nicely into a gap between Washed Out albums.  Also check out the song that put them on our radar a couple months ago “Kasumi”.

Baltimore dream pop duo preps for the release of their followup to the excellent Teen Dream with a new single entitled “Myth”.  The track feels slightly more produced than what we’re used to but any loss is made up in the lush layers added.  Bloom is due out May 15th via Sub Pop.
