Washed Out – “It All Feels Right”

No Comments 12 June 2013

New just in time for summer! The single is the first sound from the upcoming release Paracosm and it all feels right. It’s been fun watching (or listening) to Greene grow as a musician and evolve Washed Out into the full psychedelic pop sound we hear now. We’re looking forward to hearing Paracosm in its entirety which is due out on Sub Pop August 13th. Head HERE to preorder.

HAERTS

No Comments 31 May 2013

Here’s something to help you on those long summer drives, sun setting off to your right as you push your car towards the one person you need to see right then. is a group from New York and Germany that is putting together their debut album with the help of Jean Philip Grobler, a.k.a. .  HAERTS weaves a beautifully haunting style that is becoming increasingly familiar, but not losing it’s ability to pull people in: a beautiful female voice fronting an electronically driven group that creates soundscapes in their songs. Each track takes you out and pulls you along it’s beautiful journey to wherever it is you need to get to.  Check out “All The Days” and “Wings” on their soundcloud page and look for their new album coming soon.

WALLA – “No Time”

No Comments 08 May 2013

’s “No Time” is a track that grabs you immediately.  Every layer is built with the intent to be (good) catchy, whether it’s the opening synth chords, anthemic falsetto chorus, groove-disco drums, or awesome guitar/synth sound that kicks in during the bridges, there are no weak links.  LA-based fit right into the current upswell of indie pop rock immediately standing alongside peers like and Youngblood Hawke after only having released their debut EP Animal of Love last November.  The song “No Time” will appear on the next EP Nature on June 4th.  Enjoy the single below and grab the excellent Animal of Love for free HERE.

Gypsy & the Cat – “Only In December”

I’ve been sitting on this gem for a bit too long, it’s probably turned diamond.  I don’t know much about but that I really love this song.  I’d put the Melbourne, Australia band next to other psych-pop acts like MGMT.  Enjoy “Only In December” and go purchase The Late Blue.

Emma Louise – “Freedom”

No Comments 04 March 2013

is finally ready to unleash a full length album after years of singles and build up.  ”Freedom” is our first look and just as I said back in 2011, “Louise has one of the most stunning voices I’ve come across in a while”.  This new track differs in her approach slightly as she sounds more confident in the roll of the pop star she most definitely become with this album.  Vs Head Vs Heart comes out March 22nd and features both “Freedom” and “Jungle”.  Looking forward to hearing the whole thing.

Phoenix – “Entertainment”

No Comments 18 February 2013

have finally released the first single from the impending album Bankrupt! “Entertainment” features a catchy melody that sounds like it’s based on the Oriental Riff, but maybe that’s just me.  No matter, Phoenix are back and just as addictive as ever.  Bankrupt! is due out April 23rd just after their big Coachella Saturday headline and also just in time for someone to buy me a copy for my birthday (hint).  Enjoy the lyrics video below.

Those Owl City copy-cats are finally giving the people what they want with new music and a reunion tour. It’s not a new album, but we’ll take it. The two new songs will be included in a 15-song disc of rarities that will accompany the 10-year anniversary re-issue of the still amazing Give Up record. Both songs feature . The reunion tour features stops at Coachella, Sasquatch, and Primavera Sound festivals. I have a feeling this one’s gonna take you back.
