Bixel Boys – Black December

No Comments 27 September 2013

Over the past year  have been masterfully remixing the likes of Robin Thicke, Drake, and Michael Jackson giving each their “soulful, dreamy, simple and dark” flavor.  No matter how good those were, it was all a prelude to this.  On their first EP the LA duo drop two cutting edge originals with Black December.  The title track is definitely the centerpiece if for nothing else than the 4-minute mark drop.  ”Red October” is a bit more aggressive making a great compliment to the moodier track.  Overall the EP shows off the Boys full sound and makes an excellent addition to any DJ or dance music enthusiast’s collection.  Listen below and buy HERE.

Bixel Boys Remix Drake

No Comments 29 August 2013

decided to unleash some of the edits they spin live on the unsuspecting public. Basically they’re dope as usual. Love their unorthodox take on both revamping them into midspeed club tracks to keep the masses asway. Always down for more Bixel Boys remixes.

Drake – “Club Paradise”

No Comments 12 September 2011

gave away this pensive track over the weekend on his October’s Very Own site.  Lyrically the song is well traversed territory for the Toronto rapper.  ”Club Paradise” finds Drake contemplating relationships with women, dealing with fame, trust issues, and repping his hometown.  Somehow Drake and producer 40 can keep the same formula and still sound fresh.

Drake – “Trust Issues”

seeps another track on to the internet unannounced with “Trust Issues”.  Here we find yet again questioning his surroundings to a melancholy beat.  Guess he’s not lying when he says he’s having a hard adjusting to the fame.  Nonetheless, more reason to look forward to Take Care.

Here at slapthebass we’re a sucker for a good mashup.  Every Monday we’ll bring you one of our fav’s for your listening pleasure.

We got so much response from the one Chi Duly track that we decided it best to go ahead and post the rest.  For those that don’t know, producer Chi Duly made an impressive mashup mixtape with and tunes.  The majority of the tracks are remixed songs laced with lyrics from October’s Very Own creating a sympathetic mood for one of hip-hop’s most sympathetic rappers.  Download the whole thing over at HIPHOPLEAK.

Hear New Lil Wayne Track – “Gonorrhea (ft. Drake)”

No Comments 21 September 2010

Hear the first track off ’s upcoming album over at Hip Hop Connection now.  Ironically, for not being a human, Mr. Carter is rather concerned about contracting these “washed up” haters’ STD.  Besides the contradiction, Lil Wayne does an excellent job of living up to the track title’s vulgarity, even referencing two girls, one cup (thanks for reminding us).

I Am Not A Human Being is set for release on the rappers 28th birthday, September 27th.  Wayne is also rumored to be performing at Madison Square Gardens on November 5th, which is the day he is set to be released from prison.  See the LP tracklist below:
