Fav Tracks

Remix Artist Collective (RAC) recently put out this fine collection of remixes entitled VOL 2.  The volume contains remixes of some our favorites including Phoenix, Surfer Blood, Delorean, and Washed Out.  As usual RAC takes great songs and creates something new and equally as great, sometimes better.  Standout tracks for us are the Suckers, Washed Out, and Phoenix remixes but by all means find your favs.  Head on over HERE to check out more of their awesome work.



You’ve heard Delorean’s “Real Love” single in both it’s original and remixed forms.  Now it’s time to sit back and watch the video!  Directors Aaron Brown and Ben Chappell, known as Focus Creeps (NSFW) put together a fun and somewhat twisted video together combining beaches, hipsters, and wild dogs.  Record label Matador Records posted the video on their site this morning along with a quote from vocalist/bassist Ekhi Lopetegi: “Real love is being in a state of conflict against the outside world”.  Enjoy!

Show Review

Your friends here at slapthebass were able to break away from their demanding social schedules to attend the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival.  Held annually in Chicago’s Union Park, Pitchfork is known for consistently bringing stellar artists of all genres.  Due to overlapping schedules of so many great acts in a short three day timeframe, decisions had to be made.  Here is what we saw.

New Fav Track

The independent dance-rock outfit Delorean have just released a new single from Subiza.  It’s called “Real Love” and we Really Love it…  No but seriously it’s great.  The track showcases Delorean’s uncanny ability to energize and tranquilize simultaneously.  The single is available now and is accompanied by remixes by The Field, Tiedye, Deadboy, Pional, Narcisse, and ARP.  Listen to it all below and go buy it here.
