CFCF – “Jump Out Of The Train”

No Comments 01 August 2013

announced his first album since 2009 with the ambient head-bobber “Jump Out Of The Train”.  I was immediately captivated by the repetitive twinkling synths–that remind me of another electronic song about a train–and rewarded by an unattributed guest appearance by (has to be him) on backing vocals.  This is great news after the stellar EP Music for Objects earlier this year.  The album is called Outside and will be out on Paper Bag Records October 22nd.

Keep Shelly In Athens – “Recollection”

No Comments 17 July 2013

We’ve been listening to for a few years now but we now finally have a proper single from the Grecian duo.  ”Recollection” is the first sounds from At Home, their debut album on Cascine.  Built with the same transporting tools RΠЯ and Sarah P have been using all along the track is the most refined work to date.  Makes us very excited for the full length which drops September 17th.

Washed Out – “It All Feels Right”

No Comments 12 June 2013

New just in time for summer! The single is the first sound from the upcoming release Paracosm and it all feels right. It’s been fun watching (or listening) to Greene grow as a musician and evolve Washed Out into the full psychedelic pop sound we hear now. We’re looking forward to hearing Paracosm in its entirety which is due out on Sub Pop August 13th. Head HERE to preorder.

Mrs. Skannotto Tour

No Comments 31 May 2013

We haven’t featured a lot of music on here, but something about this band and their new album made me HAVE to post something. has been around for a while, but their newest album, All These Evolutions is third wave ska with a great sensibility for melody especially on the track, “Lost and Found.” They’re from New York, but touring the east coast and if you like ska at all or used to and haven’t given it a listen in a while, then now’s the time. They’re apparently touring with ska legends and it should be a great show. Check out their bandcamp to stream and buy the album.

The Postal Service – “A Tattered Line Of String”

No Comments 12 February 2013

Those Owl City copy-cats are finally giving the people what they want with new music and a reunion tour. It’s not a new album, but we’ll take it. The two new songs will be included in a 15-song disc of rarities that will accompany the 10-year anniversary re-issue of the still amazing Give Up record. Both songs feature . The reunion tour features stops at , Sasquatch, and Primavera Sound festivals. I have a feeling this one’s gonna take you back.

The Soft Moon

Part post-punk, part noise-rock, part electro-goth, was started as a solo project by Luis Vasquez in 2009.  Soon he developed it into a band for live shows adding a visuals guy to give a “full sensory experience”.  After listening to the ominous ”Insides” and “Die Life” from the upcoming Zeros LP I really want to catch that show.  The record is due out on Captured Tracks on October 30th, just in time for your Halloween party.
