GEMS – “Void Moon”

0 Comments 02 November 2012

GEMS is the synthy dreampop–or is it dreamy synthpop–duo of Lindsay Pitts and Clifford John.  The DC band just finished recording their first single “Void Moon” in an empty beach house in the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  Having been to NC beaches during the fall I can see how this was a picturesque setting to record this song.  Empty beaches, vacant houses, and a chilled ocean breeze make a great backdrop for this track.  The song is even more perfect due the lyrical allusions of a coming storm with Sandy approaching them.  Pitts confirms the song was actually written a year and a half ago while living in Texas.  Enjoy “Void Moon” below and head HERE for more on .
