One of the most mesmerizing performances from this year’s Pitchfork Music Festival was undoubtedly James Blake’s. Armed with a live band in lieu of laptop, Blake was able to take his music to a whole new level. Above is a stellar performance of the trio playing “CMYK”. Right around the 3:30 the song breaks out into something brilliant that it just can’t accomplish in headphones. Even the oft-stoic Blake gives into the beat with a sly grin. Sadly the missing element in the video is the rib cage shaking bass that filled the open air venue like water in an aquarium.
