I learned awhile back that I could save money buying in bulk (I’m pretty sure there’s still a washing machine sized jar of pickles somewhere in my garage).  Cincinnati’s Midpoint Music Fest continues this frugal way of life.  The annual indie celebration launched in 2002 and offers over 250 acts on 25 stages from September 23-25.  For $39 concert-goers get a Thursday through Saturday wristband for access to all of the venues in downtown Cincy and surrounding areas.  Not only are there countless local talents waiting for their big break (see Enlou, Pomegranates), there are a decent amount of higher profile names that quickly make up for the ticket price.  Acts of interest include Best Coast, Holy F*ck, Caribou, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Surfer Blood, Fang Island, Colour Revolt, A Place to Bury Strangers, and our fav up-and-comers The Pass.  It’s refreshing to see a fest with a wide range of talents at an affordable prices.
