Holy Ghost! has been carefully teasing their upcoming album for a month now.  The only full track from the record we’ve heard is the 8-minute epic “Dumb Disco Ideas”.  Now we have the second full track from Dynamics and it was worth the wait.  The first half of “Okay” almost sounds like a straight reincarnation of the NYC duo’s boss’s “I Can Change”, but if you’re going to copy someone LCD Soundsystem is archetype to follow.  The guys really bring their synthpop sound into the mix around the 3:30 mark as synths and “Oh’s” swell filling all the gaps left by the sparse arrangement.  This has us really looking forward to the full length release due out September 10th on DFA Records.

Get ready to heavily resist–or completely give into–a massive urge to dance.  The Australian foursome Mitzi create exceptional disco flared indie rock in the spirit of Fischerspooner and Holy Ghost!  ”All I Heard” has been taking control of the internet airwaves racking up 9K+ SoundCloud plays in a mere two days (a couple thousand may have come from me).  The thudding bass and driving drums create a home base for the vocals and piano to build a solid song structure letting the synths come in and take the thing into the air.  You’re gonna like this one.

Mitzi – “All I Heard”

It’s been a while since we’ve heard from NYC duo Holy Ghost! but now we have a new single with “It Gets Dark”.  Similar to the title, the track is a bit dark for the typical disco fun of Holy Ghost! wishing for it all to fall apart.  Alas, the negativity can’t keep you off the dance floor once it kicks off.  A limited 600 copies of the 12″ were pressed and signed by both Alex and Nick and can be ordered while supplies last HERE.

Fresh off the release of their awesome self-titled album, Holy Ghost! are back again with a supremely addictive track.  The nu-disco duo offer this cover of an early Ministry song (yes THIS Ministry) called “I Wanted To Tell Her”.  The seductive beat features vocal help from DFA friends Nancy Whang and Juan Maclean.  It may actually be impossible to listen to this song and not move…seriously those horns are amazing.  Head to Green Sound Label to download.
