Carousel covers Robyn.  Did I need to type more?  Why aren’t you listening yet?

Carousel – “Dancing On My Own (Robyn Cover)”

At this year’s Polar Music Prize ceremony in Stockholm, Sweden, Robyn gave a gorgeous rendition of Björk’s “Hyperballad” to an intensely formal audience.  Björk, half of the awardees at the event, can be seen in the video stoically watching even though word on the web is she teared up (we did too). Enjoy!

Robyn – “Hang With Me”

Swedish pop princess Robyn will be releasing her 2nd album of 2010, Body Talk Pt. 2 (the sequel to Pt. 1), next month.  The first single, “Hang With Me,” is a catchy electropop tune in which Robyn requests for us to not “fall recklessly, headlessly in love” with her…too late Robyn.  Just to tease us a bit more the singer gives us an endearing documentary-style video to accompany the single.  In it we get a personal look at our beloved Dancehall Queen mingling with fans, performing in hotel rooms, and even riding a roller coaster.  Body Talk Pt. 2 will be released September 6th giving her a mere four months to release her proposed 3rd album of 2010.

Your friends here at slapthebass were able to break away from their demanding social schedules to attend the 2010 Pitchfork Music Festival.  Held annually in Chicago’s Union Park, Pitchfork is known for consistently bringing stellar artists of all genres.  Due to overlapping schedules of so many great acts in a short three day timeframe, decisions had to be made.  Here is what we saw.
