Labor Day weekend FYF Fest will convert downtown LA into a haven for all music types alike.  The young festival manages to coordinate one of the better festival lineups of the year.  2012 ubiquitous headliners M83, Refused, and Beirut are joined by the long silent The Faint and nearly a hundred other musical acts and comedians.  FYF does a great job covering the genre gamut with James Blake, Sleigh Bells, Tanlines, Future Islands, Against Me!, Twin Shadow, Converge, and Aesop Rock.  Tickets are still available at the SITE.  Check out a playlist of acts we’re excited about seeing and the festival poster after the jump.  See you there!

Aesop Rock is back with his first album since 2007′s None Shall Pass and it’s shaping up to be pretty great already.  Both the artwork (above) for Skelethon and the first single “Zero Dark Thirty” are awesome.  Skelethon is due out July 10th via Rhymesayers.

The champions of mashups have officially thrown their hat in the ring of production with this full length debut.  Earlier this year we had tastes of this, but now we finally have the full album.  The 14-track affair, commissioned by Mishka, features remixes of Foster The People, The Rosebuds, DVAS, and guest vocals from friends like Aesop Rock, Freddie Gibbs, GZA, and more.  If you ever questioned if this Chicago duo is a one-trick pony, you have your answer…No!  Check out some of our favorite tracks below.  Also check out THIS behind the scenes video about the cover.  It’s…interesting.  Head HERE to download the whole thing for free.
