Twin Shadow – “Old Love / New Love”

No Comments 13 September 2013

is back with a new single for the latest GTA installment. Even writing a song for a video game we find him no less dramatic. The track begins with the Lewis crooning love lost over a lonely piano only to break into house chords and a super catchy chorus. Soon enough the dam breaks releasing the pending sonic flood and finally bookending with an emotive exit reflecting the intro. If it took a video game to get to release a track like this, sign him up for more.

Chad Valley – “I Owe You This (ft. Twin Shadow)”

No Comments 12 October 2012

It’s not always the case when two great artists get in the booth and you come out with gold, but this time you do.  Hot freakin’ pink gold.  Two of our favorite artists are on this massive track from ’s soon to be released full length Young Hunger.  ”I Owe You This” allows both Hugo Manuel (Chad Valley) and George Lewis Jr. () to show off their unique and exceptional voices.  On first listen it was questionable whether George would be able to hold his own after Hugo absolutely goes off, but then, of course, he kills his verse as well.  Give it a few dozen listens.

Twin Shadow – “Five Seconds”

2 Comments 01 May 2012

In a very poetic press release released “Five Seconds” the first single from the upcoming album Confess today.  The record is apparently inspired by a motorcycle rides in LA after a long hiatus after an accident.  The track has me really looking forward to the July 10th release.

Twin Shadow – “Slow”

New Fav Track, New Artist

George Lewis Jr. is .  A Brooklyn-based one man band that only takes one listen to realize he stands head and shoulders over the masses of ambient bedroom rockers that seem to have taken over the music scene.  His sound can be described as your favorite 80′s synthpop group’s greatest hits.  On the latest single “Slow” from his upcoming full length debut Lewis utilizes echoing guitars, reverb-laden drums, a grimy bass riff, and distorted guitars to build a cavernous adventure into a tortured soul.  ’s Morrissey style crooning draws the listener in leading up to the “so-trite-it’s-amazing” chorus where we hear the singer pleading “I don’t wanna / believe / believe / in love” as if trying to convince himself.

The album is due out October 19th on Terrible Records and produced by Chris Taylor (of Grizzly Bear) and can be pre-ordered HERE.  Listen and download the single “Slow” below.
