The guys from Chromeo and Chaz (AKA Toro Y Moi) prove they are the coolest in the game with the awesome video for their collab “Come Alive”. Seriously Chaz’s face at 4:03 is pretty priceless.

The Coachella 2014 lineup has just been released and per usual, it’s pretty awesome. The big news being the confirmation of the much rumored OutKast reunion, with Muse and Arcade Fire rounding out the headliners. But the hits keep on coming. Notable second tier acts are Lorde, The Knife, Beck, Pharell Williams, Disclosure, Chromeo, and Motörhead. Following those are what tend to be my favorite part, the early acts, featuring some of our favorites like Blood Orange, Future Islands, Banks, Bombay Bicycle Club, Bear Hands, Classixx, The 1975, MS MR, and…well you get the point. Tickets go on sale Friday (info) and they’re already advising people try for Weekend 2. Click more or head HERE for the full lineup. See you in the desert!
We’ve decided to take advantage of all the wonderful music out there that we don’t get a chance to write about and send it over to our resident DJ yourboyisgolden, AKA DJ PearBear, to make Golden Mixes out of for your listening and dancing pleasure. On Golden Mix Vol 1 you’ll hear remixes by some old fav’s like RAC and TheFatRat, some new fav’s Digikid84 and Viceroy, and even an original by Edwin van Cleef. Check out the full track list for Vol 1 and be on the lookout for more.
A little Friday fun. Lucas Smith’s Robots With Rayguns project has quickly become one of my favorite listens. I only recently stumbled across his originals which immediately hooked me. Soon I was equally captivated by his remixes. My favorite is definitely RWR’s version of Chromeo’s “Hot Mess”. Like a good remix, Smith makes the song his own giving it his signature new wave flare. Suddenly the original sounds like the remix. Kick off your weekend robot style with some of our favorite RWR remixes.
Get your dancing boots on, we’re only 10 days away from the release of Chromeo’s third album. This will be the duo’s first on major label Atlantic following their 2007 breakthrough album Fancy Footwork. Business Casual can be in your hands equipped with the oh-so scandalous cover on September 14th. If that’s not soon enough go on over to their website and pre-order the album and immediately get the download for the recent single “Don’t Turn the Lights On.” If this new single and previously released “Night by Night” are any indication how the album will sound then we better get this party started. Check out the video for “Don’t Turn the Lights On” below.
