Hailing from the UK LULS sound identifies closely with other acts from across the pond like The Big Pink and Wild Beasts.  Their recent 7″ release “Swing Low” / “Young” is a bombastic entrance onto the scene full of yell-alongs and walls of sound.  Looking forward to more of these guys.

Wild Beasts are set to release the next single from their fantastic album Smother.  “Reach A Bit Further” will be backed with this beautiful B-side “Thankless Thing”.  The two tracks are similar format: elegant guitar styling atop a galloping drumbeat while their distinctive vocals weave their way throughout.  The single is due out November 14th on Domino.

The second single from Wild Beasts new album just dropped so we figured we’d put this post off long enough.  Smother, the English indie rock troupe’s third studio album, shows no sign of a junior slump between its singles “Albatross” and “Bed of Nails”.  The former is an ominous and hypnotic track that exhibits the group’s strengths with its beautifully overlapping melodies and distinctive falsetto vocals.  The band recently followed up with “Bed of Nails” which, though more lively than the previous single, is still more subtle than the feel of Two Dancers.  No matter the tempo, Smother proves Wild Beasts are not done broadening their sound.  Listen to the two singles below and purchase the record HERE.
