Great weekend mix for you: Both the Cults and Sun Airway tracks deserve posts all their own, but I’m sure we’ll be talking more about them soon enough.  Two remixes from two of my favorites Fear of Tigers and Futurecop!, one of up-and-coming singer Queen of Hearts and one of StB fav The Naked and Famous.  And top it off with a duo that just hit my radar Icona Pop.  Enjoy!

Finally, some light at the end of the winter tunnel.  Pitchfork has announced the initial lineup for their highly anticipated annual festival in Chicago.  From July 15-17, thousands of music fans will be delighted to see fave bands and up-and-comers from across the nation.  It already looks like a stellar time, and it will only get better with other great additions in the coming months.

Tickets are $45/day or $110/3-day pass and go on sale at today at 1 pm EST.  The 3-day passes will most certainly sell out, so grab them HERE while they’re hot!

New Artist

Sun Airway is the ambient electronic project from Jon Bathmus and Patrick Marsciell (ex A-Sides members).  The two have a brilliant knack of applying blissful atmosphere to pop structured melodies.  Last year the duo put out the lovely four song EP Oh, Naoko for free download receiving great response via bloggers and music critics alike.  The EP along with several remixes are available for on their Soundcloud site HERE.  Since then the Philadelphia artists have signed to Dead Ocean and recorded a full length which is due out October 26th.  The debut album is entitled Nocturne of Exploded Crystal Chandelier and can be preordered from DEAD OCEAN or, if you just can’t wait, downloaded now HERE.  Listen to Sun Airway below.
